How an Airhole is built →

Breathe Free

The Airhole mouth opening lets breath and heat escape freely, so your goggles stay clear and the mask never turns clammy.

Ergonomic Fit

An anatomically shaped face panel sits flat under a helmet without bunching, and folds down when you need to eat, drink or breathe.

Prevent Goggle Fog

Warm breath exits through the laser micro Airholes instead of rising into your goggles, so your lenses stay clear from the first chair to last run.

Origin

Built by riders

Fed up with wet, frozen masks in the backcountry, Canadian pro snowboarders Chris Brown and Kale Stephens took to Kale's grandma's old sewing machine and cut up worn-out jackets until the fit was right. The result was the patented Airhole Breath Hole. Today it's worn by our global team, from Terje Haakonsen and Roope Rautiainen to Yuto Miyamura.

Keeps me warm down to -20C, wind chill extra points. … Works better than original for keeping the goggles clear

Review for Airhole Balaclava Polar Fleece x Shmobb Black Camo

★★★★★Adam Polinski

It took just one day of skiing wearing the polar fleece balaclava with the lasered air holes to convert me. Full face coverage with normal breathing and without foggy goggles!

★★★★★IGR

Super warm, and very breathable thanks to the laser holes.

Frequently asked questions

How cold can I ride it?

It depends on the fabric. Warmest to lightest:

  • Coldest days, -10 to -25°C (14 to -13°F): Polartec® Shearling Fleece, 10K Softshell
  • Cold days, -5 to -15°C (23 to 5°F): Polar Fleece, Milk Fleece, Polartec® Power Dry
  • Everyday, 0 to -10°C (32 to 14°F): Microfleece, Drytech, Waffle Fleece, Polartec® 100, Merino
  • Warmer days and hiking, +5 to -5°C (41 to 23°F): Drylite, Hyper Hole

Riding at -20°C and below, or in big wind? Go Shearling or Softshell.

Does it fit under a helmet?

Yes. The hinged balaclavas have a shaped face panel that sits flat under a helmet without bunching, and folds down when you need to eat, drink or breathe. Airtubes pull up over your face and stay put under a helmet and goggles. Riding an Airhood with a helmet? Pick the Helmet Fit version.

Will my goggles fog?

That's what the Airhole is for. Warm breath goes out through the mouth opening instead of up into your goggles, so your lenses stay clearer and the mask doesn't turn clammy. The Laser styles do the same job through laser-cut micro-airholes.

Is shipping free?

Free shipping on orders over $70 in North America. US prices include all duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay at the door.

Can I return it?

Full-priced items can be returned within 14 business days, unused and in the original packaging with your receipt. Sale items are final sale. Email info@endeavordesigninc.com to start a return.

What size is it?

One size. The Laser Polar Fleece Balaclava comes in a single size.

Great Balavlava

I was skeptical if these small holes would allow air through, but they actually do help and perform a bit better than my MonsRoyale. They are ofc not at the point to be fog-free when you have it tucked under your goggle and breathing heavy. Good thin material for spring riding.

Thanks Kevin! Stoked the Balaclava Polar Fleece is working for you. Enjoy the season.
