Endeavor Archetype Legacy Snowboard

Honestly, just go ahead and buy this board; you won’t regret it. I came across the prototype for the archetype back in 2014, and I knew that I had to have it. So, when they finally started selling it in 2016, I immediately bought one. It has been my all time favourite board ever since. Amazing in powder and super maneuverable through the trees but without sacrificing any speed or stability on the groomers. Fast forward 8 years and hundreds of days riding it, and it’s time for a replacement. Naturally, I bought the exact same board again as I can’t think of anything I’d rather have.

Is this the absolute very best board in the world for deep powder days? No, but it’s as close as you’re going to get without heavily compromising in other conditions. As long as you’re not a park rat, this is the ultimate all around board to tackle whatever mother nature throws as you and to have a great time doing it.

Love the handling. An all mountain board you have to ride! Two full seasons in and it's my preferred quiver board by far!

I bought a 158cm a few years ago, though sold it after only one day riding, as also have a Ride Timeless which I preferred at the time and seemed more practical as was riding Whistler where the pow gets tracked out hella fast and the Timeless powered through better in heavy wet snow chunder. I did recognize the exceptional quality of Endeavor and ended up with a High Five and Clout, still keeping the Archetype in mind for some day in the future...

As I'm riding Revelstoke this season, figured it'd be appropriate to give it another shot, and GLAD I'm did. Got the 154cm this time which is actually alot better for my size/weight. Rides excellent in pow, chunder, carves wonderfully. Playful, agile, all around awesome.

As much as I've loved the Timeless, after a few days getting used to the Archetype, not even sure how much I'll be riding it anymore, as been having alot more fun on the Archetype. Both are great, but loving the Archetype's maneuverability and the (board feel/flex?) with the Channel bindings.

Am impressed with the look this year, too. The pictures and video on the website don't really do justice, looks far sexier in person. The mix of glossy black with the matte geo design, gold tint, and white lettering are gorgeous.

Also picked up a Pioneer this year as love the Okan Uckun graphic, which rides great. But out of my five boards, if I had to cut my quiver down to two, it'd be the Archetype and Clout. If had to cut down to ONE, it'd be a crazy tough call. Though for someone who isn't big on freestyle and just wants to freeride with finesse, this would even be a solid quiver-of-one option as it rides just as good out of the pow as in it.

This board works great in the powder. The swallow tail works to keep the nose up and float. The board also performs very well on groomers also carving great with lots of pop. Only reason for 4 stars over 5 is the trouble I had with the shipping not the board itself.

I have the 154cm, am 5’9” tall, 170 pounds and ride in BC. I like scooting through trees and hitting pow lines. In the trees I have no problem maneuvering around the tightest situations. This board is the powder king! The nose is constantly on the hunt for the top and the swallow tail gives it a very unique feeling in turns. Get some speed in deep powder and you can pop off anything. In deep soft pow I can get going and keep going on less steep spots also which is a game changer for getting out of a few choice runs of mine. On the groomers this board is fun as hell also, the big nose butters with ease and the tail has its own unique bounce and flex to it. Super lite feel and great pop for the 3’s also. I choose this board every time I go out now. Looks dope too 🤙🏼

If you can make a footprint in the snow, you need to be riding the Archetype! Taper gives you smooth turn initiation, carbon fiber in the tail gives you a push out of your turns. Effortless in powder, aggressive on groomers. Get one. You need to add it to the quiver!

Stoked to rip the shit out of it this coming season and going smaller 150cm based on their weight recommendation...the shortest I will ever ride. I'm 145lbs, 5"8', usually ride 155-159. Hope it holds up. Strapping in with Burton Genesis X. Review to be continued.......

First off, this obviously only applies to when the snow is deep, as the board needs fresh snow to come alive.

I've owned several powder boards over the years and this board is the best of the bunch. The tail allows you to Ollie and send huge jumps that normal swallowtail or short tail board would struggle on, but because it's cut out it still sinks happily in powder to help keep the nose up. They managed to dial in the length and stiffness of the tail perfectly - you can lean on it to spring out of corners, butter, ollie, reel yourself back in after getting bucked, but still surf on it like a powder board has to be able to.

For reference I'm 6', 180lbs, size 12, and ride a 162W - it is not too stiff.

Great board

Coming in at only 6Lbs , it is super light( when counting ounces this is a good start, you know who you are ). When ashed would you bye it again ? Yes ,I have done so 5 x same board different lenghts ( best for me is 154cm , I am 5'10" 200lbs) Also I have not retired any of the boards , the oldest has 200+ days for sure . The other swallow tails in my quiver barely see the snow ( Burton Cloud splitter, Weston swallowtail, Voile split board 177 ) The archetype is my every day all mountain board. Excellent in all terrain /conditions.

This is flawless. Kudos to Endeavor for developing and building such a great board. It’s hard to express how much easier it is to float on powder with this tail structure and design. Many firms may try to copy this aesthetic, and try to charge more $$, but I know of none that match this board’s phenomenal performance!

Picked up a 162 archetype a couple years back because of Angry's constant praise on YouTube and do not have any regrets. The swallow tail allows the nose of the board to plane out like a boat on the water for effortless float. It's nimble enough to handle the trees, but truly shines in the open. Can't recommend enough to add to your quiver for the deep days.

Absolutely the best board .This was for my wife as I purchased a 160W a few years ago. We took them to Japan, and as advertised, they slay in powder and are the best overall board to lay down speed runs on a variety of conditions as they hold like a GS board .

This is hands down one of the most fun snowboards I've ridden in my 32 years of snowboarding. Fast responsive and supportive. It's there when you need it like AAA. Seriously if your thinking about buying one just click the damn button. You will not be disappointed. I swear.

Carves amazing.

Been riding for 30+ years and have never experienced a board like this. The float and pop are off-the charts. The shape is perfect for high-speed long low angle turns AND unrivaled performance in tight/steep trees - in which I was previously too intimidated to hit with other brands/shapes.

Also, the customer service and support is everything you'd expect from this highly reputable brand.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - buy this board

I've got a 2022/23 version of this board it's been all around a nice surprise. I picked it up as a 'resort powder' board, something I could have fun with on the groomers, and also work well as I venture into the trees to find little stashes around the mountain a day or two after a storm. It's been described by Endeavour as "The ultimate powder board", which it's not. What it is is a very competent powder board that gets you the bonus of 'pop' in jumps and turns due to it's relatively long tail, but general float suffers somewhat. The tradeoff is worth it for most days, but I've had at least once this season already when I wished I was on my 'deep powder' board. To be fair though, that was after two successive storms and the powder was over a meter deep in places.

So it's only got above average performance in ~deep~ powder, but the sweet spot seems to be in >20cm stashes where you can float, but really push to the bottom when needed with the full-length tail. It really shines in between these stashes on the groomers. Where most 'powder' leaning boards flat out suck to carve groomers on, this thing RIPS. It's fast, the tail is forgiving, and the taper gives it an old-school feel (the good kind). If my day is going to be exploring the mountain for powder stashes and carving packed powder in between, I can't think of a better board to do this on (and after 36 years riding, I've ridden a few).

I don't know if this would be a daily driver, but if you're looking to add to your quiver, it'd be a fantastic second board complimenting something more park oriented. Overall I'm very happy with this board, and stoked I got one before they introduced the 'acetate' graphics (seriously, WTF?).

You just won't regret buying this board. I got 45+ days on it last year and it was great in all conditions.

I’ve been riding for 30 years. This board is the most fun I’ve had on a snowboard. Bought it for powder, cat, heli days and it is just friggin awesome. But to my surprise, it absolutely rips at the resort too. My all mountain resort board rarely comes out, as this thing is too much fun. To boot, it looks incredible. If you are an advanced - expert boarder this thing will impress you.
