Airhole Original Mouth | Polartec Power Dry Balaclava

I just received mine and tried it on. Super disappointed. The amount of fabric between the eyes and the mouth piece is too much for my face. I have to choose between the fabric being bunched up under my eyes or the mouth hole being down on my chin and completely useless. Tempted to return it. The fabric rides up into my eyes when the mouth hole is placed correctly

This doesn't work for me. I purchased it for walking in freezing temperatures. First and most importantly, there's a nose seam/shape that doesn't fit my face. I can't effectively adjust the material placement (ie pull it lower and have it stay), so the "cheek" material hits my eyes uncomfortably. Second, the Brick color doesn't match the online image. Rather than a saturated brick red, it's more of a pale copper. (See pic.) Finally, a loose thread made me question its durability. I'm disappointed and plan to return.

I'm cis female, 5'4", 120ish lbs, with somewhat narrow-set eyes and a lower-than-average nose bridge. Purchased size S/M. I'd love to see pics/video of women wearing this exact fleece mask over their faces comfortably because it doesn't add up for me!

I spent a lot of time comparing balaclavas before purchasing this one, considering many brands in various fabrics and designs. Because my wife rides her bicycle in the winter (in Canada!) it was essential that her balaclava be warm in the coldest weather while fitting under her helmet and with goggles. Today it was -14c and she was able to put it to a real test. Victory!

The micro fleece face covering is soft and plenty warm, with a hole over the mouth to prevent fogging. The design is clever, with a hinge which allows the mouth covering to be pulled below the chin, while the head covering is Lycra, fitting easily under a helmet while providing warmth.

Great fit, love the hinge

The product works relatively good, the ventilation doesn’t do much difference when compared to a regular balaclava. Had to contact them multiple times to get the order shipped and it took more than two weeks to ship, to top it off the order came incomplete and they didn’t try to contact to offer a substitute. Products can be good but how you treat your customers determines your success.

Been rolling with Airhole since the start. Was able to breathe directly with my mouth when working hard and expel all the moisture instead of going in my helmet goggle hood etc.

The new versions change the measurements from mouth to eye putting the mouth either down at your chin or the eye band fully on top of your eyelids. Who's face is that long? It was perfect for decades. I'm still using my old ones but they're fraying and I need new ones. I'm now having 2x brand new M/L custom tailored at $13 per adjustment so I can sip coffee through the hole without fabric scratching my cornea.

I followed the size guide on their website and my head is at the lower end of measurement for S/M. But it turned a bit snug for me. Interestingly, with it being too small, the distance from the nose to mouth hole is too much, like another reviewer had pointed out. It is less noticable when you are on the go as it will bunch up a little. But I cannot say everyone will like how it feels. Other than that, it does its job. Condensation is much improved and fogging is literally gone.

Keeps me warm down to -20C, wind chill extra points. Works better than original for keeping the goggles clear… I have both types Polar Fleece and regular, depending on the temperature.

Got 2 air holes. This one doesn't fit well. (It is one size fits all) The other one is really great though. Would like to return or exchange it.

Best balaclavas out there!

I've ordered 4 of these balaclavas, only 1 has been delivered. I've sent 3 messages to customer service in 7 days asking about what happened to the remaining items and was completely ignored.

1 month since the order and I still haven't received all balaclavas, but I was fully charged for the whole order and still being ghosted by the support team.

Great quality

It took just one day of skiing wearing the polar fleece balaclava with the lasered air holes to convert me. Full face coverage with normal breathing and without foggy goggles! Finally! After my second ski day wearing an Airhole balaclava, I bought three more — for my wife, my son, and his girlfriend. This is the solution to a longstanding problem for me — and it’s great to check that issue off the list for good.

While the quality and functionality of this balaclava are good, it didn't quite work for me. Condensation built up on my face despite the hole in the mouth area, to the point I had to take it off. Before everything got really wet, I was also cold because of the mouth hole. Coming down the slope while skiing with the wind in your face, the big hole let all the cold air inside my neck and face area which defeated the purpose of having face/neck covering. I really wanted this to work for me, as most of the reviews are very positive, but it just didn't...

Balaclava Combo | Microfleece + Drytech

This version of the balaclava is perfect for those that prefer a lightweight balaclava that won't make you overly warm on the mountain but does its job of blocking wind and snow from hitting you in the face.

When I am exerting a high level of energy while boarding, I find that the mask still restricts the airflow too much that I actually have to pull the mask down below my nose and mouth in order to have enough air coming through.

When you are on mellow runs though, this balaclava works exactly as intended in terms of providing enough air flow as well as ensuring that your goggle won't fog up. Even with the imperfection that I mentioned above, I would still recommend this mask overall.
