The Icon Low Rider combines a timeless, skate-inspired silhouette with water-ready performance. Designed specifically for watersports, it features a tough ABS shell and a flexible EVA liner engineered to reduce the force of impacts. With a low-profile fit that stays snug and stylish, it’s ideal for wakeboarding, kayaking, or hitting the cable park. Built to perform, built to protect—without compromising on style.

It's a water sports helmet for wakeboarding, kayaking and the cable park. The flexible EVA liner is built for water, and the ABS shell keeps the low, skate-inspired Icon shape. The Low Rider is certified for water sports (CE EN 1385), not for snow, so for snowboarding or skiing pick the Icon Snow.

Certification: CE EN 1385:2012 Helmet for Canoeing & White Water Sports

Sizes run XS (50–52 cm), Small (53–56 cm), Medium (57–59 cm) and Large (59–61 cm). Sandbox helmets fit small, so we suggest sizing up.

Which Sandbox helmets have MIPS?

The ones with MIPS in the name: the Classic 2.0 Snow MIPS (Kids to XL), the Icon Snow MIPS, the Icon Brain Bucket MIPS and the Profile MIPS. MIPS® is a low-friction layer inside the helmet that helps reduce rotational forces in certain impacts.

Is it certified for snowboarding?

Our Snow helmets are certified to CE EN 1077:2007, Class B, for alpine skiers and snowboarders. Street and Low Rider models carry skate/bike or water-sports certification instead. The exact certification for this helmet is under Technical specifications on this page.

What size should I get?

Sandbox helmets fit small, so size up, especially if you wear a beanie, balaclava or goggles underneath. Measure around your head just above the eyebrows and check the size chart on this page.

Will my goggles fit?

Yes. Sandbox helmets work with any goggle brand.
